About Towneley Park

A happy, safe and loving nursery

A happy, safe, loving environment where every child is valued as an individual and encouraged to grow.

Towneley Park Children’s Nursery
Our nursery

A Victorian house with room to grow

Towneley Park Children’s Nursery is owned and run by Helen Harrison and Nigel Howarth. The nursery opened in 2015 in its own grounds: a large detached Victorian house with an adjoining pre-school annex, on Todmorden Road within walking distance of Burnley bus station and the town centre.

Our rooms are bright and spacious, and our large outdoor area gives children room to explore. We care for children from birth to 11 years, with full days, mornings or afternoons, from 7:30am to 6pm, 52 weeks a year.

We aim to give every child a safe, stimulating place where they are valued as an individual, to build strong relationships between children, staff and parents, and to encourage healthy eating and healthy lifestyles.

How children learn

Learning through play, guided by the EYFS

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework for children from birth to five. Each child has a key person who looks after a small group, so every child has someone they know and trust.

Our practitioners watch what interests each child, then plan experiences that are challenging but achievable, from digging in the sandpit to chatting with friends.
